“The law can be complex and overwhelming without an experienced advocate guiding you. Insurance companies will use confusion to their advantage. At Arnold & Itkin, we work relentlessly to untangle the legal issues, because negligent parties need to be held accountable.”
Biography
Katie Brown came to the law through a path that was defined by advocacy long before she ever set foot in a courtroom. After earning degrees in Latin American Studies and Spanish from Brigham Young University and volunteering in South America, she took a position at a translation firm in Austin, Texas, where she helped clients prepare Spanish-language documents for court proceedings.
It was there that Katie witnessed something that would shape her entire career: the anxiety and confusion that comes with navigating an unfamiliar legal system. She wanted to do more than translate.
That realization led her to the University of Texas School of Law, where she found her footing as an advocate. Her most formative experiences came through the Law and Religion Clinic and the Employment Rights Clinic, where she represented pro bono clients and developed her research and writing skills across all levels of state and federal court. Katie also served as a research assistant to Professor Douglas Laycock during his work as Reporter for the American Law Institute’s Restatement of the Law Third, Torts: Remedies. Before joining Arnold & Itkin LLP, she further sharpened her litigation skills through clerkships at a civil litigation firm in Northern Virginia and at the Office of the Attorney General of Texas.
Today, Katie serves as a briefing attorney at Arnold & Itkin LLP, preparing legal briefs for cases across the country. When opposing parties attempt to twist legal precedent to avoid accountability, Katie untangles the issues through meticulous research and precise, persuasive writing.
Katie lives in Provo, Utah, with her husband. Outside of work, she enjoys running, watching college football, and playing organ for her local church congregation.
