Suit Filed for American Seaman Injured on Shrimping Boat

The team at Arnold & Itkin has stepped in on behalf of a seaman from Tampa, FL who sustained serious injuries while working on a shrimping boat. The incident occurred off the Texas coast around Freeport, TX. The man was completing his job duties when his hand became infected. Despite making several requests to the captain that the ship be turned around and taken back to port so that he could seek the appropriate medical care, the captain decided to continue on—failing to put the worker’s safety first or provide adequate medical attention.
Due to his employer’s blatant denial of the injured seaman’s numerous petitions, the man had to undergo substantial medical treatment for his hand infection and will require additional treatment in the future.
Our maritime injury attorneys filed the case against Superior Seafoods, Inc. in Brazoria County, Texas. We are honored to be able to represent this seaman as he fights to recover from his work-related injuries.
