Arnold & Itkin File Lawsuit on Behalf of Worker Injured in Basket Transfer
Posted on
Arnold & Itkin, LLP offshore lawyers recently filed a maritime case on behalf of a Louisiana man who seriously injured in a basket transfer. The worker was being transferred from a SEACOR liftboat to a crew boat when the crane operator slammed the personnel basket onto the deck of the crew boat. The worker injured his back and other parts of his body in the process.
Personnel basket transfers are a common cause of unnecessary injury to offshore workers. It is the responsibility of the vessel owner and/or operator to ensure that the basket transfer equipment meets minimum safety standards and the crew performing the basket transfer is properly trained.
The plaintiff is now seeking damages for physical and mental anguish, medical expenses incurred and loss of earnings.
Arnold & Itkin is proud to help another offshore worker get the compensation he needs as a result of a company's negligence.
The case was filed in federal court in New Orleans.
