Representing Offshore Worker Injured on W&T Platform

-
Arnold & Itkin

Arnold & Itkin attorneys Trent Shelton and Wes Hook filed suit against W&T Offshore on behalf of a worker who was severely injured after slipping on a stairwell aboard one of the company’s offshore drilling platforms.

The stairwell lacked required nonskid material, a basic and well-known safety requirement on offshore platforms. Without this protective surface, the stairs became dangerously slick, leading to a fall that caused serious injuries. This was not an unforeseeable hazard. Nonskid materials are mandated precisely to prevent these types of incidents in offshore environments where moisture, oil, and debris are common.

W&T Offshore had a responsibility to ensure its platforms were safe for the workers who depend on them. Failing to install or maintain required safety features puts crews directly in harm’s way.

The maritime lawyers at Arnold & Itkin look forward to holding W&T accountable for this preventable incident and ensuring offshore companies take their safety obligations seriously—before more workers are injured.
