Holding Seadrill Accountable for Unsafe Offshore Work Conditions
- Arnold & Itkin
Arnold & Itkin attorneys Noah Wexler, Trevor Courtney, and Shane Munton filed suit in Harris County, Texas on behalf of a Jones Act seaman who was seriously injured while working aboard an offshore drilling vessel operated by Seadrill.
Our client was performing assigned duties using a torque wrench on a blowout preventer when unsafe working conditions forced him to overexert himself. The excessive strain resulted in significant injuries to his back and arm—injuries that could have been avoided if proper staffing, equipment, and safety procedures had been in place.
Offshore companies have a legal duty to provide a reasonably safe workplace. When employers push workers beyond safe limits or fail to address known hazards, injuries are inevitable. In this case, Seadrill failed to protect a hardworking seaman who relied on the company to prioritize safety over production.
Arnold & Itkin's maritime lawyers are proud to represent this gentleman and look forward to holding Seadrill fully accountable for the unsafe conditions that caused his injuries and disrupted his life.
