One Killed, Two Injured in Louisiana Boating Accident

One fisherman has been killed and two others injured in a boating accident that occurred Friday night on Lake Baree in Louisiana. The Terrebonne Parish sheriff’s report said that six fisherman and their captain were on a charter trip when the 25-foot vessel struck an underwater wellhead around 11 pm.

Upon impact, three of the men onboard were ejected from the boat. Two of them have been treated for minor injuries—however, the third was killed from the impact. The man who was killed has been confirmed to be a Texas resident. Currently, the Coast Guard is investigating the collision and why the boat struck the wellhead.

Arnold & Itkin wishes a speedy recovery for the two men who were injured. Our firm also extends our deepest condolences for the family of the man who was killed in the accident. We hope the Coast Guard are able to determine the cause of the incident as soon as possible.
