Case Filed for Seaman Injured by Defective Equipment

Offshore injury & maritime lawyers at Arnold & Itkin LLP recently filed a lawsuit on behalf of an injured Jones Act seaman.  While performing his assigned tasks onboard a vessel, the client was assigned to perform a dangerous lifting task using defective equipment.  As a result, the client suffered serious injuries to his neck and back.

Our firm has often and loudly called for industrial employers to invest in their equipment and work site safety for the sake of their employees. Oil rigs, shipping vessels, processing plants, and all types of high-demand, around-the-clock work sites live or die by their maintenance schedule. When companies attempt to shave costs by neglecting inspection or maintenance, workers are the ones who pay the price. Our firm looks forward to holding our client’s wrongdoer accountable before a jury.

Arnold & Itkin looks forward to helping another injured Jones Act Seaman get the compensation he deserves and the medical treatment he needs. Just as importantly, we hope his case makes work safer for all the seamen still serving aboard the vessel. The case was filed in Dallas County, Texas where the client calls home.
