Jones Act Claim Filed for Worker Bedridden After Injury

The maritime lawyers at Arnold & Itkin LLP filed a Jones Act case against Harley Marine Gulf, LLC on behalf of a Kansas City man working as a tankerman on a tugboat. The incident occurred at Southwest Shipyards in Channelview, Texas. The seaman injured his back when he was ordered to move heavy equipment without the proper help. After causing severe injuries to his back, the company failed to provide him with proper medical attention which has exacerbated his injuries.

The lawyers at our firm are deeply familiar with cases like this—the maritime industry is filled with stories of men who injure themselves because they were not offered the necessary equipment or assistance. A supervisor’s job is not only to ensure that workers are doing their jobs; a supervisor’s job is to keep his workers safe. Our client simply wants to go back to work, but he can’t until he gets proper medical care and treatment. Our firm looks forward to helping another injured Jones Act seaman get the compensation he deserves and the medical treatment he needs.

Arnold & Itkin filed the case in Harris County, Texas.
