Case Filed for Louisiana Seaman Injured by Bad Rigging
Posted on
Arnold & Itkin LLP filed suit in East Baton Rouge Parish on behalf of an experienced seaman injured aboard an unseaworthy ship. Though the company that hired this seaman holds itself out as a company of values, its vessel maintenance proved otherwise as our client was hurt when poorly secured deck rigging fell on his head.
Worse, the company’s chosen captain refused to return to port—despite the serious injuries that resulted. Instead, our client’s employer forced him to work an additional seven days in agony. It is a company’s duty to ensure that its workers are safe and healthy enough to work. The long-term health of a company’s employees should always take precedence over the short-term earnings or convenience of a supervisor.
Arnold & Itkin is proud to shine a light on this company’s treatment of its seaman and get our client the treatment he deserves. We look forward to helping our client pay for his medical care, lost wages, and more.
