Arnold & Itkin Files Lawsuit for Man Injured on Fishing Yacht
Posted on
The maritime attorneys at Arnold & Itkin filed a lawsuit recently on behalf of an Arizona man who was injured while he was aboard a fishing yacht. Our client was on the second deck of the yacht when the captain of the vessel came to an abrupt stop while traveling at a high speed. The force of the stop caused our client to fall to the floor of the second deck. During his fall, he hit his head on a rail and was knocked unconscious. His body then fell roughly 12 feet onto the fishing deck below. As a result of the fall, he sustained severe injuries to parts of his body.
The suit, which was filed in the Eastern District of Louisiana, names the yacht captain’s employer, Ergon Asphalt & Emulsions, Inc., as the defendant. It alleges that the company failed to properly supervise and train its crew and that the captain negligently operated the vessel.
Our client is seeking compensation for medical expenses, loss of past and future wages, and physical pain and impairment.
