Arnold & Itkin LLP recently filed a lawsuit for an injured Jones Act worker who was involved in an accident while working on a barge in the inland waters of Louisiana. The seaman was commissioned as part of a crew that was attempting to lift a derrick. During the operation, the seaman's employer ordered him to walk across a deck that was slippery with oil. The worker followed orders, but slipped and fell as a result. The man sustained injuries to his back and knee. The suit was filed in Harris County, Texas.
