Arnold & Itkin Represents Deepwater Horizon Victims
On April 20, 2010, the Deepwater Horizon suffered from an explosion that was later described as a "blowout." The semi-submersible oil rig which was owned by Transocean had been drilling in the Macondo Prospect for BP when the explosion occurred. It resulted in a fireball that was visible for over thirty miles and allowed crew members less than five minutes to escape from the vessel. In the end, it resulted in 11 crewmen dying and sixteen people recorded to have serious injuries. It burned for over a day before the vessel eventually sank, causing one of the largest oil spells in recordable history.
At Arnold & Itkin LLP we are well-versed in maritime law and recognize the rights of the offshore workers who were aboard the vessel at the time of the incident – as well as the families of those who were killed. We are proud to represent many of the crew members who were victimized in this incident and work tirelessly to ensure that they are protected to the full extent of the law. We recognize that failure is not an option in this type of scenario and do everything that we can to help them obtain the just outcome that they deserve. In the time that we have represented them, we have been lucky enough to build personal relationships with many of our clients – fighting because they aren't just numbers to us, they're friends.
