Will speaking with an attorney get me into trouble with my employer?
Well first of all, no one will know. No one will know if you talk to someone from my firm because this is all confidential. I'm ethically bound, anything that you tell me is kept in attorney client privilege and so you're not going to get in any trouble because they won't know that you talked to a lawyer. Second, you need to talk to a lawyer that in that type of law someone from our firm, because you need to understand what your rights are, what you could potentially be looking at, ramifications of whether filing a claim and not filing a claim. You need to have that information.
If someone at your company or a coworker is encouraging you not to talk to an attorney it is probably a sure sign that you need to talk to an attorney.
