Seaman Injured Off the Coast Gets $2,375,000

Attorney Kurt Arnold of Arnold & Itkin LLP represented a Louisiana seaman who was injured off the coast. While working for his employer, the seaman was injured in inland waters in Louisiana. He suffered severe leg injuries as the result of an unsafe working environment. Attorney Arnold filed the case in Galveston County under special venue rules that allow all injuries that occur in inland waters in the Gulf of Mexico to be filed in Galveston County. Within 12 months of the original injury, Attorney Arnold was able to prepare the case for trial and obtain a settlement of $2,375,000.
