Foss Maritime Workers Honored for Safety Record

The Pacific Maritime Association (PMA) has recently recognized Foss Maritime workers for their outstanding safety record. Foss ties up and releases ships at Puget Sound ports in Washington state. Foss reduced its annual injury rate more than any Washington-based competing services did. In fact, in 2010, the Foss line-handlers had no recorded time lost due to injuries.
President of Foss Maritime, Gary Faber, said that the company's core values are innovation and safety. He is proud of his company's accomplishments in keeping to that standard. Among their awards are first place in safety from the state of Washington based on recorded injury reports, first place in accident prevention for the entire West Coast, and an accident prevention award, also for the entire West Coast, for their zero injury rate. A worker from Foss stated that he hopes the rest of the maritime injury starts following in their footsteps. A zero injury rate is possible, and Foss has proven it.
Unfortunately, many workers are still injured in offshore accidents every day. These accidents are often preventable, but can cause major damage leading to medical expenses, lost wages, and in the worst cases, even death. If you or someone you know has been injured in an offshore accident
