After being allegedly shot in the leg by Nigerian pirates, an offshore oil worker was left bleeding from the wound in the galley of a ship.
Other workers noted that they were afraid of calling for help in fear that a helicopter would be shot down by the pirates.
The accident, which took place just over a year ago, still haunts the victim today.
According to reports, the accident occurred when the pirates took the victim hostage, demanded money, and left him unwounded. Then, in an argument as the pirates were leaving the room, one allegedly fired off an AK47, with one of the bullets hitting the victim in the leg.
The victim required multiple surgeries and has undergone extensive therapy in hopes of someday regaining full mobility of his leg.
With help from an offshore injury attorney, the victim is suing his employer for the damages caused during the accident.
