Orion Marine Group is one of the leading marine specialty contractors serving the heavy civil marine infrastructure market. Orion offers a wide range of marine construction and specialty services to customers, including federal, state, and municipal governments, as well as private commercial and industrial enterprises on the Gulf of Mexico, the Atlantic Seaboard, the Pacific Northwest, Canada, and the Caribbean Basin. In 2009, the US Army Corps of Engineers accounted for 16% of Orion’s total revenue.

Orion Marine Group offers turnkey solutions for customers’ marine contracting needs, including marine construction services, dredging services, and specialty services such as salvage, demolition, surveying, towing, diving and underwater inspection, excavation and repair. Orion Marine Group owns and operates barges, dayboats, tugs, dredges and cranes in order to offer these turnkey solutions.

LaQuay Dredging LLC; Orion Dredging Services LLC in Jacksonville, Florida; King Fisher Marine Service LP in Port Lavaca, Texas; andOrion Construction LP in Houston, Texas.

At December 31, 2009, Orion Marine Group had approximately 1,040 employees, with additional employees being hired for certain large projects. Employees are not currently represented by any labor unions, but are covered by federal maritime law, including provisions of the Jones Act, the Longshore and Harbor Workers Act, and the Seaman’s Wage Act.

The common stock of Orion Marine Group, Inc. is traded publicly on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol “ORN”. Recent acquisitions include F. Miller and Sons, LLC, a construction company based in Lake Charles, Louisiana, in 2006, and T.W. LaQuay Dredging, LLC, a dredging company based in Texas, in 2010.

Orion Marine Group’s competition includes regional marine construction services companies and a few national marine construction services companies, but significant barriers to competition exist in the United States markets in which the company operates, including the ability to bond large projects and government regulations pursuant to the Dredging Act, the Jones Act, the Shipping Act and the Vessel Documentation Act.
